In 1974, Wes Reinheller and three partners formed Medican in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. After its conception as a concrete company, Medican grew very quickly. Along with their profitable sidewalk operation, they also began to build condominiums and single family homes.

Medican led the way in introducing luxury condominiums targeted to a specific age group. Designed for homeowners 40 years and up, Medican set a new precedent by offering luxury amenities along with a maintenance-free lifestyle. Known as the Sierras, these adult condo communities are the flagship product line of Medican.

Further expanding their portfolio, Medican began developing destination properties. Crossbow Point in Canmore was Medican’s first Recreation development and the luxury vacation properties have since expanded into Quebec, British Columbia and Hawaii. Next was the Axxess line, providing the opportunity for affordable home ownership. First launched in Medicine Hat in 2004, the Axxess line now offers affordable condo living in Brooks, Grande Prairie, Edmonton, Sylvan Lake, Saskatoon, and Oshawa. Offering similar amenities as the Sierras properties but with no age restriction is the newest product, the Legend line. These condos provide the perfect balance between amenity and value.
