Medican has been a builder of homes and communities since 1974. The company has built more than 5,000 condominiums across the country. Through hard work, dedication and care for the needs of homeowners, it has become a leader in the development of lifestyle condominiums that meet the needs of people from all walks and stages of life. In the coming years, Medican will be focusing on building affordable, energy efficient green housing in Alberta and Saskatchewan as well as general contractor work.  Company History ... Medican started out as a concrete company in Medicine Hat, Alberta, building sidewalks. From those humble beginnings in 1974, the company moved into building condominiums and single family homes across the province and across the country. Medican was among the first builders to introduce luxury condominiums designed to meet specific age groups. The Sierras product line offers luxury amenities and a maintenance-free lifestyle for homeowners aged 40 and up. The company expanded their portfolio of products with the introduction of destination and recreational properties in Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec and Hawaii. Medican also developed the Axxess line aimed at providing individuals with an opportunity to own an affordable home. Axxess condos have been built in Medicine Hat, Brooks, Grande Prairie, Edmonton, Sylvan Lake, and Saskatoon. The company also established the Legend line of condominiums to meet the needs of families with an active living style and provided the perfect balance between amenities and value. In recent years, Medican has undergone a process of renewal, focusing on its core strengths and construction experience. Working with partners such as Extendicare and the Brenda Stafford Foundation, it has taken a leadership role in building assisted living condominiums. It has also begun to do more general contracting work and is turning its attention to energy efficient, green single family homes and condominiums. Medican Concrete ...  This division of the company truly forms the roots of Medican. Since 1974, Medican’s concrete crews have been turning out quality work all over Western Canada. As the company has grown, the concrete division has focused their skills on extruded concrete specializing in sidewalks, curbs and gutters. The concrete division is the foundation of Medican.
